Day trip to Barossa Valley 26th October 2022

The Greek Women's Society organized a full day excursion to the Barossa Valley on the 26th of October 2023.

The group excursion  which was comprised of 41 persons, members and friends of the organization departed from the Church of St Helen and St Constantine at 10.00am.

There was a one hour drive to Tanunda, where there was a small stop for a toilet break and coffee.

The weather was wet and overcast at the outset. But by lunch time it has cleared and it was a pleasant day.

The next stop was the Vine Hotel, where the group enjoyed a sumptuous buffet lunch.

On the return trip to Adelaide, we made a brief stop at Seppeltsfield which is located on the ‘Western Ridge’ of the Barossa Valley.

Seppeltsfield combines over 420 acres of ancient vineyard, gardens and heritage-listed architecture. The group visited the  Seppeltsfield’s world class cellar door & tasting rooms, the JamFactory Contemporary Art & Design studios as well as the boutique Vasse Virgin Skin care. The visit to Seppeltsfield was of added interest to our Greek members as Oscar  Seppelt served (1931-58) as consul for Greece in South Australia and was appointed to the Royal Order of George I in 1958 by the Greek Government.

Everyone had  great time as it was the first time in 2 years that our organization was able to organize an excursion given the Covid restrictions.
