The Olympic Hall

The Olympic Hall  in Franklin Street

The Society was the first to gather a thousand pounds for the foundation of the Olympic Hall, at 282 Franklin St which was to be built as a proper meeting place for the Greek community.

Later on, when the Hall was completed in October 1957, the Society donated 3500 pounds to the Greek Orthodox Community – to put into perspective, at that time this was an average price of a new house.

The foundation stone of the Olympic Hall was laid on the 19th of August 1956.

The official inauguration of the completed hall took place on the 13th of October 1957.
